Gn. A.E.C is well known for its striving efforts to bring up the students in all respects. One of such thriving efforts of the school is that it forms various associations taking only students as its members every year. All the associations are for formed to ensure the overall development of the students.

These associations were officially inaugurated on 25th Feb by the guest of honour Mr. Ibrahim Fikury Hussain, the Counselor of Fuvahmulah. However, Senior Assistant Principal, Mr. Abdulla Rasheed, the presidents of the associations and the teachers’ in-charge were among the dignitaries of the stage. The associations are D.L.A (Divehi Literary Association), E.L.A (English Literary Association), S.E.P (Science and Environmental Pioneers), I.F (Islamic Forum), S.C (Sports Club) and the newly formed association A.B.C (Association of Business Community) which is also known as Business Club. The members of the associations are elected by the students by voting in the elections except the presidents who are selected by the management.

The associations aim at the ‘Learner centered’ activities. These associations conduct many curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities awarding and certifying the winners and the participants of the various activities at the end of the year.

The grand function began after the recitation of the holy Quran by Hasna Ibrahim followed by the speeches by all the presidents of the associations. The presidents, in their speech introduced new activities that are going to be implemented this year. The ‘letters of appointment’ were distributed to the office bearers of the associations thereafter.

Mr. Fikury Hussain put forward his expectations from today’s students becoming ministers or successful businessmen in the future. He also emphasized on being a part of such associations to develop leadership skills in the students who in turn will make the society better.  Mr. Abdulla Rasheed, the S.A.P (Senior Assistant Principal) appealed the students and the teachers’ in-charge to take initiation by themselves and become self dependent. He reminded the theme of the school for that month ‘We take care of our own selves’
