Under 16 Netball preliminary round competitions were held in Gn.A.E.C on 13th April 2009. Gn.A.E.C categorizes its students in four houses namely Imad house, Muzzaffar house, Ameen house and Shaniviraza house. Every house is led by house master or mistress selected by the school.
After days of practice, a preliminary round match was held between Imad and Muzzaffar house on Monday 13th April. Despite several tries, Muzzaffar house lost the match to Imad. Imad house master and students had no bound of happiness after winning the match.

Like every year this year too Gn.A.E.C welcomed Teaching Practicum students from Maldives College of Higher Education under Faculty of Education from Male Campus. As many as 11 students for different subjects arrived with the anticipation of gaining teaching experience and knowledge required in practical teaching.

Fuvahmulah: Holidays are over and students have resumed to the school. The school reopened on 30th March. Students seemed jolly to resume to their school days. On asking, mixed opinions were expressed. Some students enjoyed the holidays and some were bored during the holidays while some were busy doing their holiday homework. The on-going football match in Fuvahmulah was also an entertainment for many students in these holidays. Despite the heat, it attracted good number of audience and the students were excited to witness the win and the loss of the teams.

Fuvahmulah: ‘A’ level students are off to Addu for a field trip. Both the business and science stream students of grade 12 got the opportunity to take the advantage of the trip. The purpose of the field trip is “to enrich the students’ practical knowledge”, said Mr. Murad, A level coordinator. Ms. Lakshmi, ‘A’ level Biology teacher stated that everything cannot be theoretical as the students grow they need to be more practical, which will help to achieve the teaching objectives.

10th March was an exciting and nerve biting evening as the elections were to be held to form the proposed school board. As a response to the recently proposed to form a School Board, Gn.A.E.C received applications more than the posts at hand. Therefore, as per the declared rules elections were held on 10th March.
For two posts from teachers’ quota, 3 teachers: Mr.Mohamed Fayaz, Mr. Ahmed Hussain and Mr. Ali Ahmed Didi had applied for the membership.
